Saturday to Bali Treetops....

Saturday i will go to Bali  Treetop:  http://www.balitreetop.com/  with Lisa my host and her 3 kids......

SOME BALI PICTURES ( not taken by me)

WELCOME TO MY TRAVEL BLOG

Instead of writing travel notes in one of my tiny notebooks i decided to write directly in my blog this time.....during my last big trip to this region of the world  i had to collect physical snail mail letters "poste restante"  at American Express offices.  Whether this shows how fast the world is changing or how i am turning into a dinosaur is up to you to decide...;).....

Anyway since i have to be online so once in a while anyway to respond to reservation requests for the summer season 2011, although I  do not understand these people that plan their vacations almost a year in advance....some are already reserving for 2012......anyway that is the reason why i am online quite a lot instead of hanging out at Bali´s beaches....

I am here now since Monday evening.  Arrived as a total zombie and fell asleep 3 minutes after arriving to the house at 9pm to wake up at 3 am and be totally awake....tried to get back to sleep but impossible because i was starving from hunger and only had a chocolate letter which the people who take care of my house gave me,  so I went for a walk around Sanur  (http://www.sanur.com) the town i stay in and had breakfast at a local market with a women with a bicycle and nasi goreng with all kind of little dishes to chose from.  The locals seemed to stop at her stand as well to pick up a newspaper full of nasi to either take home or eat on the spot in the street with your hands ( i did the last since i was starving..;).  I had to pay 5000 roepies and at that time had not figured out the exchange rate so did not know whether i was paying a fortune for a bowl of rice or not. .....but all the locals seemed to pay the same amount as well so i decided to gamble it ....( later in the day i found out i had had breakfast for around 45 eurocents....;)

I am staying in a traditional Joglo (http://www.joglowoodenhouse.com)   from Java of over a hundred years old.  Mine has a facade but no walls or anything in the back . There it is totally open into a small garden with toads.....anyone or anything can just walk into this house ...so far i had thiefs (long story will find some time later)  , toads, cats, gekkoos, very large salamander type animal, ants, dogs, kids, cleaning ladies, airco repair men and a beautiful multi-coloured bird and probably more given the weird noises i heard sometimes of animals in the night.  Evenhough i am in the village, at night it sounds like a jungle here.....have enjoyed it every single night so far around 4 am....;)

Here are some pics of the house i am staying in ( sorry for the fact some are 90 degrees off....i am dealing with a Blogsite in Indonesian here ...it keeps putting all instructions in Indonesian so it is quite a miracle that there are pictures inserted at all...;):

The house is amazing and doing yoga here or meditation in the middle of the night in the open space living room with the full moon shining through the palm trees with the frogs and otehr animals making their strange noises is just magic.....

Here are some pictures of the big house ( i am in my joglo in a separate part of the garden of the property):
